Socks. I’ve always felt like socks were the ultimate knitted gift. In fact, up to a couple of Christmases ago, I had only knit socks for myself and my bestest knitty friend. Mainly this was because I always felt that I needed the recipient near me so that the sock would definitely fit when the socks were all done. Then I found the Fish Lips Kiss heel method and fell in love with a pattern I could easily adapt for any of my friends and family spread all the way across the country. This pattern is worth the dollar! It is easy to pick up and can be used in either top down or toe up patterns. I also love that there is no gusset! Toe up socks offer opportunities to try on the socks as you go and really utilize your yarn to its fullest extent! Two at a time is a fantastic use of the Magic Loop method! No more second sock syndrome! And best of all you will always have a pair of socks (or mittens, or boot cuffs, etc) that will be exactly the same length! Those “design elements” can be identical for both pieces! Honestly, toe up and two at a time is the only way to go! It provides you the opportunity to make your socks exactly the way you want, just once!
